These kitchen/bath sponges are 1 inch longer than the O-Cel-O or Scotch brands you buy in the supermarket. I have longer fingers so I can still hold it well, but I prefer a 4.5 inch sponge. You can always crop them if you want less. Sponges contract and expand when in contact with water. They don't shrink when dry. They take up less space and are ideal for apartments, RVs, boats and travel. They work and feel like brand name sponges. They don't have a scrubber side. These sponges are absorbent, hard cellulose, not foam. The real test will be how long they resist odors. I found the O-Cel-O brand to be the best at resisting odor.
