Most reviews were correct as the bars sag in the middle when extended to their maximum width. If you're using a background that's 6 feet wide or less, you should be fine. The wider the slack in the back, the wider you position the bar. Fully extended bars cannot hold the backdrop firmly in place, creating a tight, smooth look. For the background I used a lightweight fabric that I also bought from Revain. The heavier the ground, the greater the sag effect when the rods are fully extended. The backdrop rod comes off the center and there are two holes on each end of the rod that fit into a screw on top of the rod/light stand. The support legs require weights to be stable and the legs do not reach the full 10 foot height. For learning how to take photos like I did, this stand works well enough to get the job done.
