Excellent duvet

. I was a little hesitant to order these as the price ($80) seemed about 50% off for a cotton comforter. Even "alternative down" synthetic duvets have wormed their way into this price range ($40-70). However, I am very happy with this purchase as it is excellent value for money with quality construction. The label says it's at least 75% duck down. I haven't found any protruding threads or bad stitching. Each pocket is well sealed and inflates evenly several inches. All pockets are evenly filled, do not leak. I didn't find any feathers sticking out of the fabric, although there were a few small feather fragments that fell apart immediately upon unboxing. It makes a little noise when moving since it's filled with air, but that's not a problem for me. When the edges are raised it gives off heat fairly quickly. I find this more of a feature than a problem as I don't wake up from sleep when it gets too hot and turn over now. The thread count is correct (233 threads) and it is cotton. Many sellers lie, claiming something absurd like 800 or 1500 threads, when in reality it is 3-4 times less, since they count each turn that makes up each thread, and not the threads themselves. Glaze. I bought flannel, which has worked perfectly. It's light and warm and I find it quite adequate for an ambient temperature of 60-65F. I've used a polyfill synthetic blanket in the past that weighed twice as much but offered far less warmth and comfort. This product is much better than the synthetic one as it does not retain moisture or air which can cause severe irritation. It also does not generate static electricity and does not stick when moved.

Pros

Cons
  • Could have opted for a newer model
