I live in northern Wisconsin and use this dehumidifier in a 12" x 15" guest room that partially houses my guitars. With acoustic guitars, it is definitely necessary to keep the humidity at around 50%. This is easily accomplished with central air conditioning in the summer and a humidifier in the winter. Many days in the summer we don't need air conditioning as the temperature stays in the 70's. Humidity can be high though, which is why I bought it to remove moisture from the "guitar room". With the door closed and the humidity in the rest of the house is a bit high, after 24 hours this unit's water bowl is only about 1/3 full and the humidity in the room is 60% - much higher than I need. . Yes, it pulls moisture out of the air, but not that much. Can be more effective in a small space. 7-8-21 Check the editing. After the initial check, customer service contacted me and offered a full refund as I was not satisfied with the dehumidifier while using it. As mentioned in the beginning, it would probably be much more efficient in a smaller space. Your concern for my satisfaction is, to me, a reflection of the care and concern this company has for its products and its customers. That was my apology for increasing my original rating.
