Awesome pillow speaker!

I bought this as a pillow speaker after reading a lot of bad reviews about 'real' pillow speakers. I was planning to use it via Bluetooth from a phone on SoundCore so there were no wires, but the audio delay between the phone and the radio tuned to the same stations wreaked havoc with our different sleeping habits. But the SoundCore accepts line-level audio in addition to Bluetooth, so I now connect it to the headphone jack with a 2-meter stereo cable. Put it under the pillow, the thickness is not a problem. Volume is controlled by the radio it's connected to, but moving the SoundCore around a bit turned out to be the easiest way! Advertised 8 hours of playback, which is plenty especially at low volume. Only downside is the slowly flashing blue light, which should come on if Bluetooth pairing is taking too long, but stays on when the audio cable is connected. Under the pillow, this doesn't cause cancellation issues, but I think so. a design flaw as it shouldn't turn on at all when the audio cable is plugged in. Regardless of my usage, the manual says you shouldn't charge the speaker for long periods of time. Why can't you regulate electronically nowadays to prevent overcharging? If I use the column every night, the column is charged from morning to night. Is it longer time?
