Update (5/27/2020): A little over 4 years later and I am pleased to report that there have been no issues with this reflective tape. I haven't noticed any fading, chipping, chipping or discoloration since installing it on our chain link fence posts and gates, and the reflectivity hasn't changed either. As long as the quality of this product is maintained, I will recommend it to all friends and family who ask for it. I purchased this item to use on the chain link fence posts that line our driveway, the metal gate to our pasture, and some other items in our driveway that were difficult to see at night. The presence of many obstacles in the driveway, the lack of external lighting nearby and fairly poor visibility in heavy rain prompted the purchase of this product. After looking around and only finding one product that was superior to technical tape but much more expensive (4 1 1/2" x 4" pieces for $4), I decided to give this tape a try. When I first opened the box, I noticed that the strap looked a lot smaller than the picture, but when I measured it turned out to be just over 12 feet long. The product was very visible, much better than the technical tapes we have used in the past. During the day the tape shines very well. At night, the bands are very bright when a light source hits them directly. When the tape sticks out a bit beyond the high beam of the flashlight, it appears comparable to the engineering class tape we already installed, similar to the school bus yellow color. Installation: Installation was fairly easy, following the practice of cleaning the surface. first with a solution of rubbing alcohol, then dry with a cloth and leave in direct sunlight for some time to remove residue. The tape itself was a little stiff, but it was still easy enough to wrap around the lattice fence post, wrap completely around itself and only partially wrap and place vertically on the vertical portion of the metal tube gate. A few tips on using this product. First, be careful when attempting to remove the plastic backing from the tape. The back is a transparent plastic strip. The first time I tried to remove the backing, I noticed a white adhesive was peeling from the corner of the reflective tape. Secondly, be careful when trying to stick the tape, the glue seems to be very aggressive and will actually stick to the surface. My first impression was that it really didn't want to let go after making contact with the pipe and felt like I might damage the adhesive if I tried to pull it back out. Overall I'm very happy with the product and am currently giving it a 5 star rating for what I've seen so far and in comparison to technical tape and high intensity precut tapes from my local hardware stores. Can't comment on product durability or abuse but after sitting outside for a month in torrential rain, wind, fashion and direct sun it seems to be holding up well. I may provide updates or changes later in response to durability or issues. Pros: Bright, decent price, good glue, easy to cut, comes with some instructions. Cons: The images posted do not quite match the actual product for this length.
