I bought them to make a reusable ice pack. They didn't get as round as my friend's beads for her lamp (hence the 4 stars) but they work great for my purpose. By adding some alcohol and making sure there's less water than they can hold, you get a lightweight, flexible ice pack that's perfect for fractures and delicate injuries. The little beads help spread the cold better (in case anyone else wants to try it). I just used the ice pack they gave me at the hospital instead of the packaging. Works perfectly.
