Black corset w/delicate stays: light-weight & EZ to wear, adjustable fit, comfy (really!)

This is a really nice corset for the price. I ordered it as part of my Halloween costume and chose the black version. I wear a size 14, and really didn't think this would work, but I figured I could give it to my daughter if it turned out to be too small. I checked the size chart and I am between an XL (bust) and 2XL (waist) so I went with the larger size. To my great surprise, this corset does not run small and it actually fits just right! And it is pretty comfortable, too. The sides and the center piece come up pretty high, but the stays keep them in place and they don't poke me under the arms or anywhere else. The band of the corset has 3 hook & eye closures and it can be adjusted to three different lengths (just like a bra) so I will be able to wear this over a fairly thick cotton top as planned. I think the corset is well designed and very cute -- the mesh is a very fine gauge and feels soft and the patterned crochet-look overlay is thicker and looks like velvet. It is slimming and I think it is quite flattering. The corset appears to be well made and the fabric is of good quality, with the exception of the band, which looks and feels rather cheap. This has steel stays, but they are very light-weight and are designed to shape the corset, not the corset wearer. The product description does not give the correct fabric content -- it is not made of "skin-friendly cotton". I wish it was. Instead, this is made of 90% polyester and 10% elastane. The current price of $19.99 seems reasonable for this light-weight, fun to wear corset.

Pros
  • Women
Cons
  • Highly revealing and designed to be worn as lingerie, making it inappropriate for many occasions
