I really loved these mugs because I love anything with butterflies on them and they looked amazing in the picture. A cup broke after several uses. I poured hot water and a tea bag into the mug as I have done with many mugs over the years. Only with those expensive Lenox mugs, I was shocked when the mug broke as soon as I put a spoon in it. A huge chunk of white China broke loose. Strange. I am a tea lover and I have mugs that range from $1.50 to $50 each. This has never happened to me, I've brewed tea thousands of times over the years. The return policy is pretty much useless as far as I know as they replace the mug but buyers have to pay 50% of the current full price. Add in the cost of shipping the old mug and the new one back to you and it becomes quite an expensive affair. I was surprised that Lenox does not simply replace the mug when it is obviously a defective product. What if the cup broke while I was drinking tea? I really didn't expect the Lenox mug to be made out of a material that was supposed to be defective. This is just my opinion of course, but I can't help but think this must have happened to other buyers as well.
