I bought this as a playmat for Magic The Gathering as I tend to play with a lot of creatures and wanted something wider than the standard 13.5x24 size but lots of elongated mats are sized 15 x 36, which seems a bit excessive. You lose about 2 inches vertically, but gaining an extra 7 inches to the side was a priority. I fell in love with him immediately. The quality of the mat seems excellent and it rolls out easily with no curling or problems. No weird smell. The art is beautiful (not distracting) and well done. Edge stitching is a really nice touch. It rolls up and fits nicely in a standard playmat tube. The surface is smooth, the thickness just right. Overall very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend as a card playing mat.
