My Abyssinian cat was overweight. The vet recommended Science Diet Low Carb dry food to help him lose weight. He was drinking too much water and was acting differently than the cat we knew so we took him back to the vet. We found out he had diabetes and he was injected with insulin. The vet switched his diet to Science Diet canned food, which they sold. My husband researched online information about cat diets and a variety of cat foods. He found something published by a vet discussing the nutritional value of most cat foods. Fancy Feast was high on the list of low-carb or no-carb foods. We switched our cat to Fancy Feast and he no longer has diabetes. Since we changed his diet, he hasn't had an insulin shot. He's slimmer, extremely active again, and his coat is as shiny as a kitten. I might add - like all cats he is a picky eater so the fact that they have a wide variety of tastes helps A LOT. Thank you Fancy Feast.
