This "hub" is actually a mini dock. It plugs into my laptop's USB-C port and allows me to connect two external monitors along with a USB keyboard, mouse and headset. I used a different one and the monitors flickered black every now and then. A little annoying. It doesn't have this problem. I use 2 27" monitors and my laptop has a 17" monitor. I use an external keyboard, mouse and headset. Oh, and my power cord is plugged into it. Before that I relied on Wi-Fi, but with a wired connection my connection to work is much more stable. This thing is aluminum and looks very solid. If you're looking for an alternative to an expensive laptop dock from your laptop manufacturer and you have a good USB-C port, you can use this one. Oh, and if your laptop is powered by USB-C with Power Delivery and uses 75 watts or less, that power connection can do the same! My Dell has failed so I can't test it, but if you're down one cable it's a full dock solution. My 3D printer uses an SD card. I had a basic USB card reader to write files to an SD card for printing. It also has an SD card reader. So I don't need another. That works great. So if you're looking for a USB dock that works well and does everything it needs to do, then this is it.
