These cameras have already caught someone trying to invade my territory and the alarm scared them away! Funny, I didn't even know they had an alarm clock! You can set the security feature at home or away, the former will not sound an alarm if you step in front of the camera and activate motion detection, while the latter will set off a shrill alarm to deter anyone entering your property, which it shouldn't. Outstanding camera sharpness for this price range. The battery life is phenomenal. I don't think they will really last the full 365 days, but it will be at least 6-8 months, which is better than my 2-3 weeks that Arlo cameras used to last. regret it!
