Review on Tyler Portable Widescreen Detachable Antennas Portable Audio & Video by Tim Paolucci

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good tuning, good battery life, the picture is very good on the street.

I read in other reviews that the picture is a bit harsh, but it can be in one room. It's not terrible, mind you, just a little harsh: too much contrast and color. However, outdoors, where I mainly observe this device, the picture looks very good. Battery life is good and the tuner is as good as other large TVs I own. I use this for terrestrial TV so a decent tuner is a must. Portable, of course, and the included coaxial cable adapter makes it easy to connect to the official antenna. Has some sort of TV signal strength meter that tells you if the signal is "bad", "normal" or "good". Even with a "poor" signal, I often still have a continuous picture. Time will tell but so far I'm happy with this purchase. The only drawback is the remote control with a push button. I just don't like this button style. In addition, the remote control turns on and off other devices in the room that use the same type of remote control. Not the biggest problem. I haven't had any battery failures, but I never watch that long, so your experience may vary. Either way, you can easily power your TV from a portable inverter. For outdoor use you will probably need an external speaker. It's just that the thing isn't very loud. The remote control turns on/off other devices in the room with the same type of remote control.
