I confess I wasn't expecting much from this set. I have many other sets that have been mediocre at best. Fortunately, this set was not one of them. It seems really nice - everything and seems like a lot of care or attention has gone into it. The box it came in is definitely a gift and beautiful. Haven't used a brush or trimmer yet, but everything else I've used has worked fine. The bowl is beautiful, with good depth. It's not insulated, but most are metal as well. The soap smells good and lathers well. The metal case that it comes in is a huge bonus and great for travel. I wouldn't shave with a razor in the shower because it's wood or bamboo, but it's fine on a bathroom counter. I love that it comes with Dorco blades which give me a nice shave. The stand is another nice bonus, and it's well made - it helps keep things organized and looks neat. A switch or trimmer is a great idea as you can't cut your hair with a double-edged razor - a nice touch. is it good value Not sure - if you went out and got all the same quality components you'd probably get less, but not much less. Overall I'm happy with it.
