Overall satisfied but not happy.

I gave this product 3 stars because it has good and bad quality. Good: - It's easy, that's exactly what I want. I prefer thinner duvets and quilts to thicker duvets. Nice color, exactly what I was looking for. It's a beautiful rusty/burnt orange color - perfect for the upcoming fall season. - He's handsome and tall. We have a king bed and it is larger than the other king duvet we have (from another manufacturer). - It washes well. I washed it before use and so far so good. (Although I can't confirm its durability as I just bought it) - It's not a very good quality. Sounds weird, but I was NOT looking for a quality (or expensive) duvet. Our 75 year old dog and cat sleep in the bed with us, so I can't justify (or afford) really good linens or comforters. I need something I can wash in the comfort of my own home. - It is NOT sewn. At first I was going to rate it as "not very good," but the more I thought about it, the more I was glad it wasn't actually sewn with thread. Our current blanket is quilted with thread, and after nearly a year of use and frequent washing, the threads are snapping everywhere. Also, cats have claws, that's what. Not very good: - I'm not a fabric pro, but how is this microfiber? The description says several times that this is the softest microfiber blanket, but I don't get it - it's a bit hard. Maybe it will soften over time. As you can see in one of my photos "quilting" is just a melted polyester embossing. The description says it's not actually quilted, but I didn't realize that when I bought it. It suits me that it is not sewn with threads, but the penetration is very uneven and in some places it has melted through. I'm a little worried about how this will hold up over time. The description greatly exaggerates how soft this "quilt" is. For what I paid I wasn't expecting a silky soft blanket that's as soft as a baby's bottom, but they kinda sold it that way. satisfied; HOWEVER, I would definitely return it if I paid the original price (around $80). So I'm happy with my cheap, thin, beautiful 'quilt', but if I was really looking for a soft, good quality, actually quilted with patchwork yarn, I'd send it back.
