One of the problems with the TB3 connector is that you may not know the capabilities of the CABLE you are connecting to it. This applies in particular to charging cables, which can fail miserably when transferring data. I have a large amount of USBc to MicroUSB that charge my Garmin Edge 1030 bike computer, but fail miserably when I try to install the bike computer on my MacBook Pro desktop. This cable solves this problem immediately. However, I have yet to be able to glean it from the medusa-like jumble of keys piling up in my drawer, the cable compartment of my laptop bag, etc. etc.
