Thumbs down. in Beds and Sofas

My dogs hate it. I bought two (large and x-large). One was for Rough Collies who are only confined at night and the other for the much gentler Rough Collies. When I laid them out for the first time, not a single dog was interested. Before going to bed, Gladky went to his cage. All night I heard skidding and crunching everywhere. The bottom fabric is thin, hard nylon with a rubberized texture (dots). It literally crunches when you touch it, so you can hear the dog's every move. When I let him out in the morning, he grabbed the bed, pulled it out of the drawer and dragged it to the patio door. In doing so, he tore the nylon webbing (not along the seam) and pulled out a piece of foam inside, which is just a thin piece of corrugated memory foam. My other dog sat on her new bed for a few minutes and then lay down on the tile floor. I'm lucky to sew. I'll upholster both beds and swap out the fresh fabric for something softer and calmer and see what happens. The beds they replaced have been used by other dogs I've had since 1999 and I've made blankets for them to reuse over the years. I bought them because they were on sale, reasonably priced, and I thought my boys would love them. If the new cases I'm making don't entice them to use them, I'll give them to an animal shelter.
