I compare them to professional headphones I've bought for hundreds of dollars and headphones that cost $100 or less. For the money the sound is excellent for listening to music on an iPod or phone. They sound detailed, rich and the bass is crisp. They don't look thin and tinny. The only downside I find is that it may lack headroom, resulting in a little bit of bass (bass) distortion when you crank it up loud. For use with stage monitoring this can be a problem, plus most musician headphones have a flat frequency response so you won't get as much bass boost unless you add it to your monitor mix. But for this money they cannot be defeated. I'll probably buy a few pairs to use in the studio as they work great at medium volumes when playing live in the studio.
