We submerged it for a while and also splashed it. Stayed dry and worked pretty well. Is that a top camera? Absolutely not. But it will definitely work in the pool where you do NOT want to take a smartphone or regular camera with you. The video quality - at least during playback - is excellent. Again, this isn't a $400 underwater camera. You get what you pay for. The controls are fairly easy to understand. Setup is easy. As for the reviewer who said the battery bounces: you have to push the battery all the way in and you'll hear a distinct click as the little lever twists over the edge of the corner to latch it. Picks up the sound quite well. I got this for the kids to use at Disney World in a few weeks. I will then update the video from the trip so you can decide for yourself. UPDATE: Well the videos and photos weren't that good at night. Of course my son splashed in the pool. But it has withstood and withstood the beating. You need to be absolutely sure you have near-perfect lighting for photos and videos to come out. Overall, I'd probably spend a few bucks more for something with a little more quality.
