Review on Natures Diet Simply Freeze Dried Whole by Anna Fetzner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great food in this price range!

This is a great meal for the price so I gave it a try. It's more affordable than some of the more established brands, but still pretty healthy. I have five dogs that eat about 11 pounds of raw food per day so this (like any other commercial raw food) is not financially viable for regular feeding, but freeze dried raw food is a lot easier to feed when we travel and it's a fun one Treat for filling congas and the like. People who complain about dust in the bag obviously don't understand how the freeze-drying process works or how it changes the texture of the food. It is completely normal for freeze-dried products to be "dusty” or crumbly! Every brand of freeze dried product does this! Dust is crumbled food, NOT "probiotics" or fillers. Only groceries broken during packing and shipping. I actually prefer the finer, powderier food as it makes my little pug easier to eat (plus I grind most of the food for her anyway). don't soak long enough - it needs really warm (not cold, NOT hot) water and at least 20 minutes to absorb enough water. When properly hydrated, it's thick enough to hold a fork in, but water can be added to thin it out if needed. mixed. You can see that there's quite a lot of whole foods - turkey chunks, purple potatoes, peas, carrot chunks, etc. - and quite a bit of powder (which again is JUST FOOD). Set with flax, chia and seaweed!

Pros
  • Safe Raw: Freeze drying is a natural food preservation process that removes moisture while preserving the nutritional value of food. Freeze-dried raw food is always pathogen-free, making it the safest way to feed a raw food lover. Shelf stable, safe to handle and easy to store.
Cons
  • Not bad
