Vintage Holiday Decoration - Score!

I've been looking for it for a long time and after several years of unsuccessful replacement delivery I finally ordered it. I was particularly interested in the hollow base (which they have after removing the cardboard panel) which allows me to position them in the center of the window over the center latch. It's kind of old school, if a little less well done than the ones we remember from the '60s and '70s. When screwing in the bulbs you have to be careful, you easily don't go far enough, in this case the bulb stays dark and you think it's a wiring problem (it's not). I think the original models had a screw-in lamp base, which is a cheaper cast base with metal contacts. I got 4 of these, all worked great. My only complaint is the length of the cord (short, maybe 24 inches) - but like the other reviewer, I'll probably replace the cord at the end of the holidays before putting it away, with cords specifically tailored to my apartment/sockets around to make them better next year. Comes with clear incandescent bulbs (7w) which are not hot to the touch but I also ordered 2 x 25 LED bulbs. - both warm white and orange. FWIW, warm white is a bit bluer and less bright than incandescent, orange LEDs are noticeably dimmer (not like the old school orange incandescent bulbs of my youth) but pleasant enough. Stick with orange for Christmas and then maybe warm white for the New Year holidays.

Cons
