Samplers like this one are great if you want to test different scents for relatively little money. I highly recommend this if you are interested in getting better quality incense sticks to smell the air in your home. Ten Pyo (Peaceful Sky) has a very strong woody herbal scent that reminds me of peppers and burning green wood. Obviously, chiara is one of the most notable ingredients in this blend. I didn't like this scent at first, but over time it has become one of my favorites. However, I probably won't use it again in the future. Be careful, the smell is EXTREMELY strong and powerful and lingers for a long time. Try again after the first burn; I don't regret it. Muromachi (Cultural City) has a very strong note, almost caramel (but not quite) and smells of wood. The scent is more two-toned. Not as much a food smell as candy, but a lot less sweet. (Scorn that description. Try it, it's better than what you read here.) Genroku (Returning Spirit) is very green and grassy. Is it supposed to represent air? Maybe? Not very airy, but if you don't mind green, then pleasant. Less powerful than Peaceful Sky but has a different connotation. Shirakawa (White River) is not quite like the river trail, but it is. However, both flavors are different. Is it almost cuter? But it's still a cinnamon flavor, a delicious taste that's not overpowered by the spice smell. I personally liked him very much. Finally, Nijo (Avenue of the Villa) is a light, fresh scent that reminds me of lots of fresh, vague flowers. Other people describe it as walking down a street lined with houses, each with its own garden, after a light rain. Too poetic for me, but it smells fresh and has a light floral scent. The ones I prefer. I hope this helps anyone interested in buying it and maybe choosing a favorite flavor. I know I stopped at Avenue of the Villa for this package and now I understand why White River/River Path is so popular. All of these fragrances are exceptional in their own right; There are definitely times and places where Peaceful Sky or Returning Spirit would be more appropriate than, say, a bouquet of flowers.
