Size doesn't fit in fingertips

Living in the Midwest, our winters are pretty cold and every year I struggle to keep my hands wet enough to avoid horribly cracking my hands, especially on my fingertips along the edge of both sides of my nail. I really wanted a waterproof headband that I could wear, especially in the shower. I always buy rubber fingertips to slip on my fingers but they are cumbersome and expensive to use so thought I'd give them a try to at least wear under the tip or during the day to protect my fingers . They are too wide, even at their narrowest point, to slip onto the tip of your finger and then wrap the edges of the butterfly around them. Return to square one.
