I have tried multiple different brands of solar powered lights. One side of my house does not get a lot of sun - and that's where I need the lights at it's where my driveway and side door are. Because of the angle of these lights, I am able to stick them sideways on the front end of the house (where the drive starts) so the solar section is facing the front of the house. They are bright enough to light up the bottom part of the driveway as I pull in. I also have 2 sideways by the side door and they are getting great sun for the front and light up as I get out of the car. I have it on the setting where it's dark until movement. I've had them up for about a month and they are doing great.
