Love the fabric. Very soft, light and stretchy! Unfortunately the length of the size 4 shirt didn't cover my dog's entire back for protection. As it is very white and sensitive to heat/sun, I took no chances with the size purchased. The fabric stretches to conform to the body as shown in the sizing chart, but does not remain in a stretched position to accommodate the length to cover her back. Weighs 3.6 kg at 9 months. She has long hair which makes her appear taller than she is when her hair is dry. While her hair is dry, she tucks her shirt in and it fits - a little tight but feels like a nice compression. I guessed the wrong size and might try size 6 next time. I am providing this to help others with small dogs that are difficult to properly adjust. So many reviews of toy breed clothing say "great" or "perfect" for small and tiny dogs, but such reviews are useless when I'm in a dilemma of which size to choose for my pup. I prefer to find the right size the first time. My dog measures about 10-10.5 inches from neck to tail. Currently her chest is about 9 inches. The shirt rides up a bit because her hair takes up a lot of space in the shirt - it's been a long (not so long) time since she was a puppy.
