Almost all the coasters were chipped when it arrived. I exchanged it for a replacement unit, which fortunately arrived safely. These are the real unglazed pottery you made in art class and they are fragile. Unglazed ceramic also makes them absorbent, so pros and cons. I was disappointed with the first set because they were so cute but I couldn't accept the chipset. I sent it back for a replacement which I have to say was quick and easy. A brand new kit has arrived! Hooray! I would recommend being careful with them - don't drop them, don't set the glass up too hard, etc. I'll update the daily wear information once I use them more often.
