Easy to use + high quality camera

With our first child we were looking for a simple, affordable, easy to use and install camera. We didn't need all the crazy features (WiFi enabled, iPhone app, etc.). Especially with people hacking wifi cameras etc. We wanted something a little more low-tech. This one fits the bill plus some! It really works. Right out of the box, we installed and started working in less than five minutes. I didn't even have to pair or try to sync - it worked right out of the box, which was impressive. My husband and I tested the camera, sound, etc. before mounting on the wall from the hanging bracket. The pan/zoom function was great for getting exactly where I needed to be in the nursery. The sound and picture quality is exceptionally clear. The battery charge is sufficient for our needs for a week of use. We leave it plugged in most of the time, but we also unplug it and store it in the kitchen etc. We have a 1800 sq.ft. single story house. Foot and reach has never been an issue for us. We can get a channel wherever we need it. The only downsides I see with this device are that the buttons aren't always intuitive. For example, you must press "Function" before changing the volume. I would have preferred volume as the first option over pan/tilt/zoom. But maybe that will change as the child starts to move around more. We don't use many of the other features (lullabies or night light), but we knew we just needed something basic. However, we use the voice function (talking to a child) more and more frequently. All in all, a good, affordable, and quality option for parents delving into a baby monitor for the first time!
