Review on Cable Pass Through Wall Port by Jason Melvin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Make sure your holes line up on both sides of the wall and use a nail finder!

The company recommends drilling a 1 3/4" hole in the wall for this connector. I started with a 1 1/2" diameter hole and then adjusted the rest of the dimensions to accommodate both the male as well as the female end to fit. A tricky thing with this setup is aligning both sides of the hole. I have an entertainment center that is blocking one side of the wall so perfect hole alignment is not possible. I got close enough with a long drill to mark the center of both sides. Make sure, that you use a thorn finder so you don't start a hole. that you can't finish! Besides aligning the holes, screwing the two ends together can be a little frustrating when you're alone. Someone really needs to hold the other end while you screw the pieces together so they don't twist around the wall without tightening. I also used some oil on the threads.

Pros
  • Fully tubular wall flashing that covers the entire length of the wall from side to side.
Cons
  • Obsolete
