These are good, well-made boots. I ordered these for my 8 year old son who wears a size 4 as a teenager. These shoes run true to size and have a roomy toe box. He says they are very comfortable (which is a plus since he has sensitive feet). He says they are warm and keep his feet warm when it's cold outside. He has great grip but doesn't leave black spots when his feet are busy. The inner material is soft and padded, the insole is not removable. They protrude past his ankle but don't dig into his skin. The laces aren't too short, but leave enough length for two people to tie them together. Very happy with these boots!
