It's been almost three years and they're in great shape! I bought a set of polished nickel hooks in December 2016 and they hold up well. We live in a damp, humid area and I was worried they would rust quickly. To my surprise they are great. The photos show the hooks at best and worst condition after using this shower daily (2 adults) for almost three years. Care and Maintenance. I sprayed them with WD-40 first when I put them on for the first time. At the same time I also sprayed my curtain rod. I've reapplied WD-40 at random, maybe a few times over the years. We also use a mop and chamois to wipe down our shower stall as needed after each use as it is very humid in here. Lubricating and removing most of the moisture from the shower walls probably goes a long way in keeping these hooks in good condition. Use - On first use I thought the balls would make a noise as the curtain moves along the rod, but that didn't bother me. I had no problem installing different curtain grommets or ball bearings on the end of each hook as some others have mentioned. My experience with metal or even stainless steel items in our home is that some care is required. keep them in good condition due to our humid climate. So I am completely satisfied with the condition of these hooks after many years of daily use.
