Also works in winter!

In the winter my wife likes to keep the house a little warmer at night than I do. Therefore, in the interests of family harmony, I decided to try this duvet and use it in combination with the duvet I usually use. Not quite sure how best to combine the two covers, I tried all four possible combinations for at least two nights each. Here's what I learned: Combination #1 - Duvet UNDER duvet (ie next to me), shiny (nylon/polyethylene) side DOWN: VERY cool at first, but temperature rose fairly gradually over about an hour to the point where it was definitely hotter than under the duvet (useful since the duvet acted as an insulating layer; most of the heat absorbed by the duvet stayed under the duvet) Combo #2 - duvet UNDER duvet, shiny side UP: so same temperature as duvet rose to the same level as combo #1 in just over 30 minutes. Again, this isn't the solution I was looking for. Combo #3 - Duvet OVER Duvet, Shiny Side UP: This was definitely the hottest! After about 2 hours every night I tried it, I was sweating and couldn't take it anymore! Combo #4 - Duvet OVER Duvet, Shiny Side DOWN (as in the video): This was the method I was looking for! After an hour or so, the temperature was significantly colder than the blanket itself, but not SO cool as to be uncomfortable. I would say that the cooling level stabilized after about four hours. Ever since I found the best solution for my needs (combination #4) I have slept better than ever in my 15 year marriage to my warmth loving wife! It is no exaggeration to say that this blanket has changed my life (much) better. After experimenting with this I'm sure it will work (as advertised) to keep me comfortably cool even in the summer! One final note (also mentioned in the video): Since the nylon (cooling) side can be very slippery on fabric, I found it helpful to secure the corners of my blanket with pins. It doesn't bother me at all; In fact, safety pins help me make my bed in no time! I think you will find this blanket to be worth the money.
