I'm a snob. I tried replacing two sets of sheets I bought from Bed Bath and Beyond about 20 years ago, yes I said 20 years ago, and finally found one I like enough to keep. I tried to get the same sheets from Be Bath and Beyond. I paid over $300 for the sheets and returned them because they don't even come close to matching my original sheets. These sheets meet my snobbish requirements: they're thick and great value for money. Another person remarked that the stitching and detailing is excellent. I totally agree. From the packaging they look rough. You need to wash them 2 or 3 times in warm water with fabric softener to remove glue and other residue from the sheets before using them. They're still not as soft as my 20 year old sheets, but I'm sure they'll get softer over time. I strongly recommend always washing them separately. My golden old sheets, I think I paid over $125 a long time ago. These sheets will probably become my new favorites - the old ones were torn. Great price if you want thick, soft sheets. The packaging says they are satin. After washing with fabric softener, the sheets do not take on a satin look. I suspect the satin finish will fade over time. If you want a smooth finish, this isn't for you.
