This switch kit is made from very solid materials. Threaded part looks to be solid brass and the gasket, washer and nut are of good quality as well. I installed this a few weeks ago, so I can't speak to how long the finish will last, but it seems to be nicely finished and based on my initial impression it will stand up to wear and tear. Once all assembled, the switch works flawlessly. I've used it dozens of times and the switch has never failed to turn on or off. I'm very glad I made this purchase and I'm sure you will be too.
