I know that in today's world of portable electronics and even portable power supplies it's easy to just buy an AC powered battery or pump, but let me tell you, I've found this thing on a lot of hikes saved a lot of trouble. This is the most powerful hand pump I have ever used. Nozzles for connection to various types of valves are fixed at the end of the outlet pipe so that they do not get lost and can be quickly replaced. Of course, this thing is great for when you're camping and running low on batteries or forgetting your portable pump, but what's even better, this thing inflates your airbed faster and more firmly. So leave your electronics at home. Another notable advantage of this pump was the emergence of fires. Especially when the tree is wet. Start a fire and use one of the fine nozzles to blow a stream of air directly onto the flame/embers and you will be blazing in no time. If you're a survivalist, this should be in your bag. I could buy another one.
