Review on Premium Pearl: Upgraded Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker II by Hwang Jiya ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best thing for the money, Im glad I chose this option.

The workmanship is excellent, there is nothing to complain about, the design is strict and refined, no frills. It gives the impression of a quality and expensive thing, which it is. The column has the correct frequency balance (smooth frequency response), good detail and surprisingly deep bass for such dimensions. Of course, this is not a subwoofer, but for this size the result is excellent. Indoors, if you need maximum bass, it is better to place the speaker in the corner. The stereo base is wide, the sound seems to be processed by the processor, if you close your eyes, it seems that 2 bookshelf speakers are playing, although the distance between the speakers is several centimeters. There is loudness compensation - at a low volume the speaker plays very well, there is no feeling of loss of detail, as on other speakers. The maximum volume is sufficient for me, but it may not be enough for a disco on the street. To protect against shocks, you can buy a silicone bumper case, but it will not protect against water, unfortunately. In general, an excellent speaker if sound quality is important and water and shock protection is not fundamental. PS: don't believe the negative reviews, the speaker sounds great for its size. Maybe people got a fake, or they want a sound like from floorstanding speakers with a subwoofer, or maybe they just don’t have a hearing.

Pros
  • Very high quality sound, the best for such dimensions. Beautiful design, high quality workmanship, convenient docking station, USB charging, speakerphone included. Long enough battery life (longer than the first version).
Cons
  • There is no protection against shocks and water, you can’t put it in your pocket - it’s heavy, there is no support for the aptX codec, (but the sound is excellent even without it) the battery is non-removable (the first version of soundlink mini had a removable one).
