This protective case and keyboard overlay is a good solution for moderate protection of my 15 inch MacBook Pro with Retina display. fits perfectly, as does the keyboard cover. The protection does not impede access to the ports. I have not dropped or abused my computer. I don't want to do a damage control test to really "verify" this coverage. But it definitely protects the outer casing from everyday use and transport (in my leather bag with a separate laptop compartment). Plus points are the rubber pads and the cooling grid on the bottom. For me and my road traffic I have to change it about every 2 years. The exterior of my MacBook Pro stays as clean as the day I bought it. And the keyboard cover, which wears down over time from years of typing, keeps dust and grit and possibly small drips from getting on the keys and electronics. RUBAN Case and Keyboard Case are cheap insurance for on the go. RUBAN is always on my computer. I use it along with a soft zippered case in a leather computer case during transport. This system works very well for me.
