I really like this tripod for small transport. Much better than other travel tripods I have. While it's not as big as a typical travel tripod, that's not really its purpose. But when used as a travel tripod, the stability it offers more than makes up for the lack of height on most of my shots. The legs are very strong. The weight is acceptable considering the solid bottom they offer. The head is fine, but not enough for a DSLR with a large lens. Consequently, I used a different, stronger head than the one that came with the kit. I'd rather save a few bucks and not be forced to pay for the head. All in all, this is a great tripod.
