Review on Focal Sphear High Definition Earphones Black by Katie Alvarado

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Amazingly clear sound. but it takes a bit of work to get there!

I bought these headphones a few months ago and I really like them. As a result the sounds are really great and clean without the use of electronics to compensate for poor material or design. I have Focal speakers at home and in the car and have become a fan. In most cases, however, some adjustments need to be made before you can really use their full potential. Firstly, the plastic tips in the box are absolutely inconsistent and as a result you don't hear enough bass. This is a big problem as these are already brighter headphones. As others have recommended, I bought a pair of Comply memory foam tips and saw the difference between day and night. I wouldn't use headphones without them. Secondly, as with every time I use Focal products, the high definition and precision of the high range means they are bright and I personally prefer using an EQ to smooth out the higher frequencies. 4000 Hertz. This might not be everyone's preference, but I end up doing this for all my focus gear, otherwise I find the highs too overwhelming. I recommend using the free VOX app for music, which has a very good customizable equalizer. Forget the iPhone Music app's overly versatile equalizer presets. So I've had a very good experience and would recommend these headphones to anyone willing to take the time to get them to work well. But some people want a perfectly working product right away, so I'm deducting 1 star. I'd also like to add that they may need a few weeks of bedding before the low range actually becomes good (although this may be due to poor advice at first, but I feel like it's really improved).

Pros
