My cat had a mastectomy, which of course required something to keep her from licking her long incision. I started with the Elizabethan collar, which she tolerated most of the time, but sometimes decreased when she got bored with it. Then work on her stitches. I ordered this particular jumpsuit as it had sleeves so might have been less irritating to the skin under her front legs at the top of the cut. It was delivered earlier than I expected and I figured now we can get rid of that annoying collar. Spring. I put it on her, the size was good. The quality was good. The neckline is slim but not tight, as are the sleeves. The length was correct. I buttoned the buttons, fastened the velcro. Everything was good. She lay down for a while, but got up with encouragement and began to walk. I stayed with her for a while and everything was fine. She left for a few minutes, not long enough, but when she came back she found the damn suit lying beside her while she peacefully washed the seams. I couldn't believe it and still can't imagine how she got away so quickly. Closures and Velcro remained intact. Upon closer inspection, I saw a pair of small claw holes on the underside of the suit. Examined her abdomen and found several scratches, luckily not near the incision. What a disaster. I didn't dare to try again. I had high hopes for it, but we're back to square one.
