Review on πŸ‘“ Foster Grant James Rectangular Reading Glasses - Clear, Stylish Eyewear for Perfect Vision by Shane Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good concept but plastic frames are flimsy junk that breaks with a frustrating consistency

These glasses fill a niche that I couldn't find in other readers. Very low magnification at the top, medium distance in the middle, and high magnification at the bottom for close-up reading, with no lines to interrupt the field of view. Unfortunately, as many and many others have pointed out, frames are crappy hot junk and will break in many places including the bridge and the corners where the frames are thinnest; Also, the black paint will peel off the frames on the off chance they last more than 4-5 months. These shortcomings are not unique to plastic-framed multifocal Foster Grants; I just had a standard pair of single powered FG readers that I use very sparingly for photo editing in the corner. I have always kept them in a case when not wearing them and have never strained them. Foster Grant plastic frames are a total crap but unfortunately I haven't found a better solution as I hate putting my glasses on and off all the time. It's systematic obsolescence through retaliation, and it borders on a crime for a pair of reading glasses that cost $35 and never last more than a few months. Foster Grant skins his customers with these crappy frames that are about to snap in half. I could buy a nice set or two Ray Bans. In the future I will go to an optician and see if I can get some custom readers with decent frames made for me instead of spending more money on them.
