my preschool sons recommended the more expensive version of Fiskar but the store was out of stock so I decided to try these. You are perfect. The tip is blunt, but the blades themselves are sharp. The small switch helps the little ones learn how to use the scissors, but can also be switched off. We kept some for home and shared the rest with my sons' school.
