I opened two of these brush pens and they work exactly as expected. Being left-handed, I need a much finer point for calligraphy. This brush pen is the only one that really gives me a lot of control. Some people say it's not a "brush pen" because the tip is hard, and it's not actually a "brush", but the tip should be hard. You can soften the tip to make it look more like a brush by breaking the tip (just press hard to loosen the hardness). If you're still unsatisfied, opt for soft tombow grips, which are thicker and may be easier to handle for right-handed beginners. The ink comes out evenly, not a single one has dried. It's been about two months now and I hope it stays that way.
