They did their job and were as advertised but I have a few complaints: - They are larger and heavier than I expected. Given our new TSA approved world, we won't be getting a secure lock, just a deterrent. Small and light are preferred. Each lock weighs 2.2 ounces, which is important when you're backpacking. The numbers are difficult to read in certain (particularly dark) conditions as the polished chrome dials reflect the surroundings. I had to use my phone's flashlight several times to enter the lock code. Black dials with white numerals or something like that would be better. They worked fine. The cable pops out once you enter the correct code and press the button, so they do their job well. Note that there are several other versions of this lock on the market that include a security cable with loops on each end that you can use to attach your bag to something. This would be a good option for people trying to avoid a rush and run situation on a train etc.
