Review on 🎙️ OM Digital Solutions VN-5200PC SEO-Enhanced Digital Voice Recorder by Charles Alvey

I won't go into details like some other reviewers, except that the designers of this product seem smart enough to know that some buyers are using it to spy on people (which of course you never do should do). You can turn off the beeps and lights for silent operation, and program it to turn on automatically when it hears someone speaking. Recording and battery life are excellent. The built-in microphone isn't professional quality, but it's actually a bit better than expected. As long as there isn't a lot of background noise, you can pick up speech from across the room just fine. The only downside is the plastic frame which makes me fear that one wrong move will break it. I would recommend it though. UPDATE: The mic is very omnidirectional, meaning it'll only pick up gibberish in a crowded room. I tried framing it in an art gallery as an experiment to see what people were saying about the piece, but all you could hear was the manner of the crowd. Still probably good for getting stuck under a table or something. Which of course is spying, which you should NEVER do.
