I work in an office and mostly wear flats or heels. I have a women's size 8.5-9 in the shoes and they can look pretty gaudy but they work pretty well. They pack away in the included carry case and fold up to fit right over your shoes when you need to use them. With flats or heels, they're a little loose at the bottom of the sole (not so bad if you're wearing trainers), but the zipper helps secure your ankle so they don't slip or slip as you walk. I stepped in deep puddles with them and the water didn't come through the bottom or even into the area of the flash. I would say they are very handy to have in the car when you need to run errands but you don't have wellies with you.
