I want to record and then minimize the edit, which is why I love it so much. G85

I mainly use it for video and am very impressed with this camera. I like to shoot and then minimize editing, that's why I like the G85 so much. The 4k video quality with unclassified default settings is better than the GH4 I replaced it with. Clarity and color are better with default settings and I really don't have time to get lost in post. I also compared it to the Sony RX10iii and the 4K video quality was a little less detailed, but the overall picture was better with the G85. Also, menu settings on the G85 are much simpler than on the Sony. In addition, the key layout on the G85 is much more intuitive. Autofocus looks about the same, but I mostly use manual focus for videos to make sure it stays sharp. Especially since I'm shooting in a controlled environment. I'll miss the wide focus range, but not that much, and I'll be able to buy more and more lenses with the G85. Another thing is that the G85 seems to crop in 4k without touch, so I can get a little more angles. This bothers me on all cameras when shooting 4k and I wish I could get the 35mm equivalent of 24mm instead of 28mm in 4k. It also seems that the images were much better with the G85. It seems that every time I set the RX10iii to autofocus to try and get some kid shots for fun, 1 out of 5 shots gets right, while almost every shot with the G85 gets right. For me, f3.5 does its job well, but the f2.8 12-35 lens looks better. I thought my untrained eye might not see it, but it did. Also when comparing f3.5 and f3.5 everything looks better. Expensive, maybe not for everyone. I also tried the Sony a6300 and it was an amazing camera, but it overheated very quickly whether I removed the monitor from the body or not. So I didn't get a chance to keep it and that was a serious deal breaker. The G85 can get warm but never gets hot enough to overheat and shut down when shooting in 4k for extended periods. I've been shooting 5-8 minute fast turn videos for about 4-5 hours straight and it never turned off. It got a little warmer than the GH4 and Sony RX10iii but never crashed so it's fine. The only problem I have with the G85 is that I would like it to have 4k 30mbps instead of just 4k 100mbps. I recorded about 40 videos of 5-8 minutes and it was about 122GB. I had to use compression software to save it, which was a little annoying. I love the water and dust resistance and that's what put me off buying the G7. It also feels like a better camera than the G7, with a more intuitive user interface. It's hard to find a better camera.
