The waist is very small

Pants are very thin. My son usually wears a size 14 (and he's a little loose fitting as he grew up in it). At 14, they were 4 inches from even buttoning up. I'd say just a size up, but the length is so long that I'm not sure it's a good idea unless you want them hemmed.
