The trick is to get hot water and hold it there until it's flexible enough. The instructions just say leave it in.

I was very skeptical about this product after reading the reviews and watching the video. Directions are very clear. The mouth splints took some time to form. The trick is to get hot water and hold it there until it's flexible enough. The instructions say to only leave it in the water for 5 seconds, but in fact I submerged it in the water until it was flexible enough. The bottom tray was more difficult for me to shape, but after that the process was very easy. I didn't use all the gel. Usually one tube of gel is enough for one session. I was afraid of sensitivity so I didn't want to overdo it with too much gel at once. I immediately noticed the difference. I didn't have any sensitivity problems. Make sure you give yourself enough time to do this. It takes quite a long time. I was very impressed with the product as a whole. Some of the downsides of any product you use a mouthguard in is the drooling lol. All I had to do was have paper towels with me and soak up any excess saliva as I didn't want to swallow the gel. It didn't taste as bad as you might think. I don't really write reviews, but I was impressed enough that it's worth taking the time to let other people know. Obviously not everyone is the same and some people will have bad experiences if they have a more sensitive mouth or if you use too much gel. Although it's definitely worth buying.
