Review on Purina Fancy Feast Classic Chicken Cats by Andy Cornelison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great quality at a great price and my vet recommended

Somehow people look down on Fancy Feast and think it's low quality. But my vet told me that there is absolutely nothing wrong with feeding Fancy Feast. EXCEPT, she recommended staying away from "sauce" or "cheese" flavored varieties. She specifically told me to take classic pies. The reason is the added wheat gluten and artificial flavors that make it less healthy. The Godfather versions have none of this. (Or chunky, as I discovered). I had to switch to wet food after my cat nearly died from a blocked urinary tract. He has been eating FF ever since (for over 5 years) and has never had constipation or urinary problems again. (No expensive urinary tract foods required!) I feed them to my other cats too. Over the years I've only received an inferior batch of 24 cans. It's also worth noting - if you do your research, you'll find that there really is nothing wrong with organ meat. When catching something wild, not only will cats eat pure meat, they will of course also gnaw through some bones, tendons, organs, and other types of tissue. However, organ meat is NOT the first ingredient in most of these classic pie varieties (which is great), but they all contain organ meat. This is no cause for concern at all and does not reduce the quality.
